WHAT IF THE BIBLE COULD SPEAK!!!

Image
If the Bible could speak, what would it say about you? Well, what I mean is, what if the Bible could speak with an audible voice. I remember reading a story when in my English Language reader when i was in elementary school. the story was about a river that harboured crocodiles. Every day, herds of baboons came to drink from this river without knowing there were crocodiles in it. And each time they came, the crocodiles would spring from their hiding place in the depths of the river and drag the baboons to their death. This would go on day after day; week after week and year after year. The author concluded the story with the quote,”If the river could speak, it would tell the baboons that there were crocodiles in its waters.” When I look at the landscape of Christianity today and see the many denominations and their many doctrinal interpretations; all purported to have come from the Bible, one if but force to wonder whether they could all have come from it. Hence the phrase, “If

DOES GOD NEED KANYE WEST TO FURTHER THE GOSPEL?

Voddie Baucham Says God Doesn’t Need Celebrities Like Kanye West to Advance the Gospel In a breath of fresh air, Voddie Baucham touches on the bizarre fascination with celebrity Christianity. While we should appreciate and praise God any time someone comes to Christ for salvation, the interesting phenomenon is that Christians tend to think that when celebrities become Christians, God is somehow more able to use them and their platform than He could without them. Voddie Baucham demolishes this mindset. While Baucham didn’t mention West by name, it’s profoundly obvious that he and others like him are on his mind. It is actually much more refreshing that God has placed men like Baucham to speak truth into the culture and the Church than men like West who, since his claim to Christianity, has done nothing but compromise. How God Saved Me from the Prosperity Gospel

Image
I am a pastor in a small village about 500 kilometers west of Nairobi—in Kenya’s sugar belt region. For the better part of my adult life, I was a Pentecostal/charismatic/Word of Faith preacher. But the day came when my faith made no sense at all. I first heard the gospel as a young man, though the message contained false advertising about a Jesus who would meet all my needs and fulfill all my dreams. Remaining unsaved would lead to a life of misery, sickness, and poverty, I was told. It appeared logical, then, to embrace Christ and step into a world of limitless blessing. I wanted all God had for me, and I zealously rose to become a herald of the message I had received—which I later learned is Word of Faith teaching some call the “prosperity gospel.” I knew of no other gospel. I believed God was good, and this meant nothing uncomfortable came from him. I learned to deal with Satan for causing anything negative in my life. Spiritual warfare was ingrained in me. As
