Voddie Baucham Says God Doesn’t Need Celebrities Like Kanye West to Advance the Gospel

In a breath of fresh air, Voddie Baucham touches on the bizarre fascination with celebrity Christianity. While we should appreciate and praise God any time someone comes to Christ for salvation, the interesting phenomenon is that Christians tend to think that when celebrities become Christians, God is somehow more able to use them and their platform than He could without them. Voddie Baucham demolishes this mindset.
While Baucham didn’t mention West by name, it’s profoundly obvious that he and others like him are on his mind. It is actually much more refreshing that God has placed men like Baucham to speak truth into the culture and the Church than men like West who, since his claim to Christianity, has done nothing but compromise.

SIMILARITIES BETWEEN CATHOLICISM AND PENTECOSTALISM

  It should be noted that the above mentioned are religions on their own that are different from Christianity. What I mean is that Pentecostals and Roman Catholics aren’t Christians. And Christians can neither be Pentecostal nor Roman Catholic.   I know what you are thinking. I am judgmental, right? Well, listen to what I have got to say before drawing a conclusion. By the time I am finished, may be you would agree that Catholicism and Pentecostalism are anything else but Christianity as underlined in the teachings of the scriptures. Christianity as a system of beliefs is deeply rooted and based on the teachings of the Bible alone. SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT SONG WRITING AND WORSHIP

But honestly it's better to go clean the street gutters than to stay in a room and sing songs with no Christ filled doctrinal content. Some of the songs are: 1. No so we de hail you oh. Who are you hailing ?  I saw some soldiers hailing their commander with the same song. It could be your village chief or even your friend. My point there is no way for anyone to know who you're hailing because the song doesn't tell. 2. We go de hail hail your name day by day.  Whose name are you hailing ? What name are you hailing ? The song doesn't say. Everybody is left to imagine for himself the name you are hailing. It could be Mohammed, Baal, Allah, or even Marduk or Isis you're hailing. 3. Ah ah ah komole. Sincerely I have no idea what this one means. If you know, please enlighten me. All the people I've asked didn't know what it means. But they always jump out of their seats when this song is raised.
