SOLA SCRIPTURA

Image
The phrase sola scriptura is from the Latin: sola having the idea of "alone," "ground," "base," and the word scriptura meaning "writings""referring to the Scriptures. Sola scriptura means that Scripture alone is authoritative for the faith and practice of the Christian. The Bible is complete, authoritative, and true. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Sola scriptura was the rallying cry of the Protestant Reformation. For centuries the Roman Catholic Church had made its traditions superior in authority to the Bible. This resulted in many practices that were in fact contradictory to the Bible. Some examples are prayer to saints and/or Mary, the immaculate conception, transubstantiation, infant baptism, indulgences, and papal authority. Martin Luther, the founder of the Lutheran Church and father of the Protestant Reformation, was publicly r

DO CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS SERVE THE SAME GOD ?

Image
Well my answer is capital NO. These are my reasons: 1. The Christian God is a Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) while the Muslim God is a unitary. 2. The Christian God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac. The Muslim God asked Ibrahim to sacrifice Ismael. 3. The Christian God chosen people are Israel. The Muslim God chosen people are Arabs. 4. The Christian God sent his Son,Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the world. The Muslim God doesn't have a son. 5. The final prophet of the Christian God is Jesus Christ. The final prophet of the Muslim God is Mohammed. 6. The scriptures of the Christian God is the Bible. The scriptures of the Muslim God is the Quran. 7. The Christian God is worshipped in spirit and in truth. The Muslim God must be worshipped either in Mecca or facing Mecca. 8. The Christian God used over 30 people to pen the Bible over a period of 1500 years while the Muslim God used one man Mohammed to write the Quran over a period of less than a hundred

Praise And Worship Time

Image
I was just thinking. Do you know the meaning of praise? What about the meaning of worship? Well in the typical services I have ever attended, a praise song is known as a fast song and a worship song is a slow song. So when the pastor asks the singer to lead the congregation in praise, everybody knows he means the singer should sing fast paced songs. When the song leader says" Let us worship the Lord, he means let us sing slow songs. But is praise equal to fast paced singing and worship to slow paced singing? I wouldn't like to bog you by going into the Hebrew and Greek meaning of these words. It suffices to say that when Jesus said that the Father is looking for those who worship in Spirit and in truth, he didn't mean the father was looking for people who sing slow Bible songs. And when the Bible through its many commands enjoins us to praise the Lord, it doesnt mean we should sing fast paced song. Now if praise is not a fast paced song and worship is not a slow paced

Touch Not The Anointed Of The Lord

Image
‘’…Touch not my anointed ones and do my prophets no harm.’’ Psalm 105: 15, 1 Chronicles 16:22 The verse under consideration is a very popular quotation in Christian circles. It is always readily recited to counter anyone who dares say anything against pastors or ministers of the gospel. It doesn’t really matter how gross the crime or heresy they are accused of is. The larger proportion of believers will readily brandish the above mentioned verse to hush whoever would have the temerity to voice his criticism of a man of God’s perverted behavior. This verse has been used and is still used to impose a code of silence on those who will otherwise speak against the abuses that so often tend to be rampant in certain Christian circles. The question we ask is whether the verse under scrutiny was meant to be used the way it is being used. When the writer of holy writs gloriously penned this more than often quoted verse, did he intend it to be used by the modern believers as a blanket with whi

What The Bible Teaches About The Trinity.

Image
The most difficult thing about the Christian concept of the Trinity is that there is no way to perfectly and completely understand it. The Trinity is a concept that is impossible for any human being to fully understand, let alone explain. God is infinitely greater than we are; therefore, we should not expect to be able to fully understand Him. The Bible teaches that the Father is God, that Jesus is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God. The Bible also teaches that there is only one God. Though we can understand some facts about the relationship of the different Persons of the Trinity to one another, ultimately, it is incomprehensible to the human mind. However, this does not mean the Trinity is not true or that it is not based on the teachings of the Bible. The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Understand that this is not in any way suggesting three Gods. Keep in mind when studying this subject that the word “Trinity” is not found in Scripture. This is a term that is used
