LEAVING THE PENTECOSTAL RELIGION!

Image
Abuoma Boanerges: Personal Testimony of a Nigerian Pastor My Miraculous Conversion From The Pentecostal Religion. Written and officially published on 10th June 2014 I was raised in a Christian home in Umumbara-Umunoha, Mbaitoli Local Government Area (LGA), Imo State, Nigeria. By the time I was ten years old I had become actively involved in the activities of the Charismatic church where my parents were members. The church was called Glory Time Bible Church. I remember how the church music was very loud and always enthusiastic and exciting, with drums and many other musical instruments, and lots of singing, clapping and dancing. Besides the music, the church also emphasized the Charismatic/ Pentecostal spiritual gifts and outward shows of holiness. For example, the women were not allowed to wear jewels and earrings. During my childhood the church was unregistered. Later, when it tried to register with the government for incorporation and licensing, the church had to change its n...

Church or Shrine

Image
A particular building Christians gather to worship is called church but the same is not applicable to where false prophets and their members gather. It is imperative we address this issue so that Christians can understand the difference between the gathering of Christians from that of the false churches We should not call the place false prophets assemble a church because it will be a disservice to believers and dishonourable to body of Christ. Instead Those places of assembling should be called their proper names; the 'coven or shrine', because that is what it is. Our bodies is the temple of God and the altar is in heaven where Christ himself is performing the duty of the great high priest. That is why we all need the holy spirit not some object for protection like shaman. if We must succeed we must put all effort to distinguish between these two. This is also one of the task the Lord has given us The false prophets gathering is devoid of the holy spirit. Therefore, It i...

False Teachers Series

Andy Wommack has propagated his heretical, false doctrines through his worldwide cult network of Charis Bible Colleges. As in this post regarding healing, his damning, twisted theology gives his followers false hope of being healed. The problem with Wolfmack’s false teaching that it is always God’s will for a person to be physically healed. There are many people in the Bible who are faithful servants of God, loved Him, and yet they were not healed. Paul himself, Galatians chapter 4, had a bodily illness. It’s a matter of physical record that not everyone who loved God, served Him in perfect health. Sickness is not necessarily a result of sin, but it is part of being in a cursed world and in a corrupt, mortal body, as Jesus was (Philippians 2:6-8, Hebrews 2:14). Wommack teaches that it isn’t up to God to determine who receives healing; it’s up to the person! Just like Satan, Wolfmack wants to be a little 'god' and diminish God's sovereignty and put power a...

How Do You know a Christian?

A lady I met with sometime back told me that I didn’t look like a Christian. Taken aback, I asked her how she thought a Christian was supposed to look like . She gave me the following characteristics: 1. You must look serious. Apparently I was too playful according to her. Hence, I could not have been a Christian. Some people will disagree with the playful part though. They think I'm too serious. 2. Always carry a big size bible in your armpit. I agree that I am guilty of never going around with a Bible. Actually I have a Bible which I keep under my piano stand at the church so that I don’t need to hold a Bible on my way to church. Apparently, that disqualifies me from being a Christian. 3. Always use Calvary greetings like, “God bless you”, “It is well with your soul.” I am not a Calvary greeting guy, that I know. I prefer the use of conventional greetings such as, “ Good morning, how are you”, and the rest. 4. Gauge people’s level of holiness before mingling with them. We...

PRIVATE JET AND THE CHURCH OF GOD IN NIGERIA.

Acquiring private jet is different from acquiring a car. When you buy a car, you can either drive it yourself or hire an experienced driver that doesn't cost you much, you can either maintain it at a company mechanic or private mechanic, you can purchase direct insurance or third party insurance, and finally you park your private car in your compound or car parks. This is not the same with a Jet. Purchasing a jet is like opening a spending account, you need an expert and certified pilot to fly the jet. Pilots are not paid peanuts. Nigerian owners of private jets go for foreign pilots. To pay pilots in dollars costs the church millions of naira a year. The jet must be certified air worthy meaning regular maintenance by the company that produces the jet (cost tens of thousands dollars or millions of naira to keep jets air worthy). You need to pay yearly insurance for the jet which costs thousands of dollars yearly. Private jet doesn't land inside your compound, you pay airpor...

DOES GOD TELL PEOPLE WHO THEY SHOULD MARRY ?

Image
When I first joined a Pentecostal church, I was taught along with others that if we prayed really hard, God would tell us the person we are to marry. We hear many stories about how God told this brother or that sister who their life partner would be. There was this brother I was close to that told us that God had shown him the lady he would marry. After all was said and done the parents of the girl swore he won't marry their daughter. After a while the brother told us that God had shown him a different girl would be his wife. To end the story he married none of those two girls. There was also this sister who ran to a brother in the church yard after a Sunday morning service and planted a kiss on his lips in full view of the entire church membership as they emptied the church auditorium. When queried as to why she had done such an abominable act,  she retorted that God had revealed to her that the brother was her husband. The brother got so pissed that he never looked at her again. ...

RELIGIOUS PLURALISM

Image
Religious pluralism and ecumenism teaches that every religion is a valid way to God. Hence, no religion should be criticized and their followers proselytized. The Bible however is not in bed with religious pluralism and if you claim it as the word of God, you should know that Christianity has no equal when it come to revealing the heart of the Father.  Jesus said that if you confess me before men, I will confess you before my father and the Holy angels. Of what good is such a confession if we confess him only in our Christian homes and congregations ? Aren't we supposed to confess him before those who resist him and make it crystal clear to them that he is the only way to life eternal ?  Should we keep quiet for fear for our lives ? Did Jesus keep quiet when they picked stones to kill him ? Did the apostles keep quiet when the Sanhedrin threatened them with death never to speak the name of Jesus again ? Did Stephen keep quiet as the stones sucked his life away ? Did Paul rearr...
